Ciara and Russell Wilson’s engagement has sparked a flood of congratulations from their friends and fans, but definitely some bitter feelings from their respective exes. We know how Ciara’s former fiancé Future feels about the news, and now Wilson’s ex-wife Ashton Wilson has reacted as well.
The former Mrs. Wilson (who apparently still hasn’t changed her married name) took one look at the five-carat rock Russell gave Ciara and decided to change her Twitter profile picture to feature her own eight-carat engagement ring from Russell. Of course, those in the know about diamonds know that bigger doesn’t always mean better.
“This is one incredible ring,” high-end jeweler David Harris tells Hollywood Life about CiCi’s stone. “This brilliant cut solitaire is approximately 12 to 15 carats and looks to be a D through F colorless diamond, which means it’s a really good diamond. I would estimate the center stone to be worth between $2 and $2.5 million based on one which I recently sold to a very wealthy client.”
Russell popped the question to Ciara in Seychelles last week and the newly-engaged couple quickly shared the news on social media. “She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling…,” he wrote. Ciara captioned her own pic of the occasion, “I Feel Complete.”
